While not exactly portable, the Strathwood Padded Club Chair is
certainly one of the most comfortable chairs of its type that I have
ever used. It weighs in at something close to 19 pounds (its official
shipping weight, including packaging materials) and is bulkier than the
smaller, lightweight chairs, making it more difficult to imagine
carrying this one for any great distance - something I do a lot when
attending outdoor music festivals every summer.
On the other hand, the comfort of this chair in comparison to the lighter ones is outstanding - making it perfect for use as additional patio seating and extra party seating around the house.
As in all chairs of this type, unpacking and set-up is easier than collapsing the chair and getting it to fit back inside its "carrying case." I did feel that I had been in a wrestling match by the time I had the Strathwood packed and ready for temporary storage, but I suspect that will get easier with time. (I've only repacked it once.)
Overall, the build of the chair has a high quality feel and should last for years if it is kept out of wet weather when not in use.
If you are looking for something more permanent, a chair that you will use around the house rather than on the road, this chair is a great choice for you to consider.
